Project: Conference titled “Hip-Hop: The Culture That Has Influenced France for 50 Years”
Objectives: To honor the 50th anniversary of hip-hop by exploring its impact and evolution in France through a high-profile conference and debate.
Challenges: As hip-hop reached its 50-year milestone, we decided to celebrate its profound influence on French culture. The challenge was to create an event that not only commemorated this legacy but also engaged a diverse audience, from long-time enthusiasts to newcomers interested in the culture.
Apporach:
- Event Organization: Coordinated a conference at SPOT24, located at the heart of the Paris Tourist Office near the Eiffel Tower, which was hosting the Olympic Exhibition celebrating the fusion of sport and urban cultures.
- Curating Speakers: Brought together prominent figures from the French hip-hop scene, representing diverse backgrounds and generations, to share their insights and experiences.
- Moderation and Content: Enlisted Kayz Loum of MY MEDIA ROOM as the moderator to facilitate meaningful discussions on hip-hop’s impact over the past five decades.
- Partnerships: Collaborated with various partners, including media outlets, production companies, and cultural organizations, to enhance the event’s reach and significance.
- Documentation: Arranged rehearsals at the urban shooting location in Paris and supervised the filming to maintain artistic integrity.
Outcomes:
- Successful Event: The conference provided a unique platform to delve into hip-hop’s enduring influence in France, attracting attendees from various demographics.
- Cultural Preservation: Captured the history and evolution of hip-hop in France, contributing to the cultural archive and educating future generations.
- Ongoing Initiatives: Laid the groundwork for a series of conferences and debates, demonstrating our commitment to promoting and sharing hip-hop culture.
