Project: Three-week national tour across 10 cities in China
Objectives: To support the post-pandemic resurgence of China’s hip-hop dance community by providing workshops, judging battles, and fostering international cultural exchange.
Challenges:
After the pandemic, China’s rapidly growing hip-hop community sought to reconnect with global influences to rejuvenate local interest and participation. There was a strong desire to host international figures who could inspire and educate dancers and enthusiasts across the country.
Our Solutions:
- Leveraging Expertise: Our co-founder, Fabbreezy, who has been instrumental in introducing hip-hop to China since 2004, led the initiative.
- Tour Coordination: Partnered with our local organizers we’ve known for 20 years to plan a comprehensive tour covering 10 major cities over three weeks.
- Workshops and Classes: Conducted daily public and private classes, catering to participants from China, Japan, South Korea, and beyond, spanning all age groups.
- Judging and Mentorship: Served as a judge for multiple dance battles, providing constructive feedback and mentorship to emerging and advanced talents.
- Community Engagement: Engaged with local communities to strengthen ties and promote the growth of hip-hop culture in the different regions.
Outcomes:
- High Participation: Classes and battles were packed, indicating a strong resurgence of interest and engagement within the hip-hop community.
- Cultural Impact: The tour not only revitalized the local scene but also reinforced international connections, fostering a sense of global community.
